Aspiring New York Actress Turned Amateur Detective Tracks Down Her Father’s Killer

While she may aspire to play a detective on the big screen, Joselyn Martinez could have a career as a real life gumshoe.

The 36-year old Dominican actress from The Bronx showed her sleuthing skills by helping track down the man who killed her father in a dispute in front of the family’s Dominican restaurant nearly three decades ago.

It took her eight years and about $280 paid to Internet-background check sites, but Martinez sniffed out confessed killer Justo Santos in Miami.

“Knowing the person my father was, I couldn’t live with myself if (Santos) stayed free,” Martinez told the New York Daily News Monday. “I need to see him in New York to know this has really happened.”

An actress with the silky voice of an angel showed the doggedness of a seasoned detective, tracking down the man accused of shooting her hardworking father to death 26 years ago.

Brown-eyed beauty Joselyn Martinez’s tenacity led to the arrest in Miami Thursday afternoon of Justo Santos — who had been on the lam since the 1986 slaying, as first reported in the Daily News. He mistakenly thought he had gotten away with murder.

The 36-year-old songstress said it took her about eight years and a mere $280 paid to Internet background-check sites to crack the cold case.

Teen jumps to his death after $1.50 drug hit

Sydney high school students are selling a cheap and dangerous synthetic drug to classmates that mimics the effects of LSD and which has been blamed for the death of a year 12 student on the North Shore.

The hallucinogenic substance that Henry Kwan ingested hours before he jumped to his death at Killara on Wednesday night is widely available on the internet for as little as $1.50 per tab.
