During a search by the Community United Effort (CUE) Center for Missing Persons and the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) for missing person Robert (Bobby Weaver, III), human remains were found Oct. 24.
The remains were positively identified as those of Weaver, according to NCSO, Friday. The cause and manner of death is still listed as undermined because there’s no medically identifiable cause of death.
“The remains were thoroughly examined and no foul play was detected,” NCSO Sgt. Cortney Morison said.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 search teams located human remains about a mile from where Weaver was last sighted, according to Morrison.
“The remains [were] believed to be that of Robert (Bobby) Weaver, III due to the personal effects located near the remains, such as personal identifying documents,” Morrison said Sunday.
The Newton County Coroner will be working in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for a positive identification.
