Radnor Township Commissioner President Phil Ahr charged in child porn probe

Radnor Township Commissioner President Philip Ahr was charged Wednesday with numerous counts of child pornography possession and distribution dating to 2013.

He allegedly sent and distributed images of infants and toddlers being abused by adults, according to the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, and attempted to hide more than a thousand links to pornographic images in multiple Excel spreadsheets on two computers.

Under Pennsylvania law,  child porn charges are considered sexual abuse of children offenses, but there is no indication that Ahr had any actual contact with children.

After surrendering, a subdued Ahr was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David H. Lang a small courtroom in Newtown Square. He posted bail — 10 percent of $100,000 cash — and was released under the condition he would have no contact with minors.
