Boston man imprisoned for coercing young girls to send nude photos

BOSTON – A Boston man was sentenced to serve seven years in prison after he admitted he got young girls to send him explicit photos by threatening to kill their families, the Boston Globe reported.

Hector Acevedo, 27, of Roxbury, entered guilty pleas to charges of posing or exhibiting a child in a state of nudity for sexual conduct, possession of child pornography, distributing child pornography, distributing obscene material to a minor and attempted extortion and human trafficking of a minor. 

Acevedo was sentenced Tuesday, the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office said. 

According to prosecutors, Acevedo approached the girls online and threatened to kill their families if they didn’t send sexually explicit photographs of themselves. Authorities said two girls, aged 11 and 12 at the time of the coercion, sent photos. Acevedo solicited a third girl, but she did not follow through.
