Authorities believe they found remains of missing 3-year-old NC girl, FBI says

Officials said they have arrested the live-in boyfriend of Kristy Woods, the mother of 3-year-old Mariah Woods, in connection with what is now believed to be the death of the child.

On Saturday night, the FBI released a statement that “investigators have recovered remains believed to be 3-year old Mariah Woods in Shelter Creek along Shaw Highway in Pender County, North Carolina. Positive confirmation will be made by the medical examiner’s office.”

Earlier Saturday, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office said Mariah is presumed dead based on evidence gathered throughout the weeklong investigation into her disappearance.

NC authorities organizing search party for 3-year-old missing girl

– A search party is being organized as authorities and volunteers continue to search for a 3-year-old missing girl from Jacksonville, North Carolina. 

Mariah Woods hasn’t been seen by her family since Sunday, November 26. She was reported missing around 9:00 a.m. on Monday. 

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office and ‘Team Adam’ with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are organizing a search that will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Volunteers will need to come to the the Dawson Community Church located at 2311 Dawson Cabin Road. 

Volunteers also need to bring official identification, water, food and wear appropriate clothing as safety is a priority, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Volunteers should be prepared to walk anywhere from four to six hours

DAY FOUR: Authorities continue to search for missing 3-year-old Mariah Woods

The search for missing North Carolina 3-year-old Mariah Kay Woods has now entered its fourth day.

WTVD-TV reports, authorities searching for the missing toddler are asking residents to search their properties for anything “out of the ordinary” in the hope that someone will come forward with information that leads them to the little girl, whose disappearance in Onslow County Monday prompted an Amber Alert that has gained national attention.

Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller is urging the public to comb through their properties meticulously for “any clues,” including wooded areas or “outbuildings” such as sheds or barns.

A team from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is headed to North Carolina to help in the search efforts.

On Wednesday, a North Carolina Wildlife pickup with a boat was seen near the search site where authorities have a road blocked off.

22 years ago this Yemassee woman went missing, now authorities are asking for your help

On Nov. 17, 1995, then 37-year-old Kaye Hamilton of Yemassee was reported missing. Now, 22 years later, authorities are once again asking for help finding her.

Hamilton lived on Jenkins Road in Yemassee, and was last seen by her grandmother on Nov. 3, 1995 before being reported as a missing person nearly two weeks later, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office release.

She was believed to have been associated with drug traffickers, according to the report, and those traffickers might have beleived she was acting as an informant, something the report says is not true.

At the time of the disappearance an investigation into persons of interest, but a clear case could not be established against any of them according to the report.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is asking for help locating missing Columbus teenager Latisha Boyd-Dunning.

According to the NCMEC, Latisha went missing Nov. 11, 2016 from Columbus, and is now 14 years old.

Latisha is described as a black female, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

The NCMEC says Latisha is still believed to be in the Columbus area.

Anyone with information on Latisha can call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 or the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 614-525-3333.

HOUSTON – Deputies say they found hundreds of images of child pornography on devices in the home of an 18-year-old north Harris County man.

Joven Resendez, of the 19300 block of Richland Springs Drive, is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography and one count of promotion of child pornography.
