A student at an upstate Franciscan college was busted by the FBI on child pornography charges, authorities said Wednesday.
Federal agents found images and videos of young children being sexually abused on the computer of caught Kyle Roache, 20, and a junior at Siena College in Loudonville, according to an affidavit reported by Syracuse.com.
The nonprofit National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped off authorities about the potential distribution of child porn by someone associated with a Dropbox account. With the cooperation of school officials, the FBI identified Roache as the owner of the account.
The biology student said he used online chat site Omegle and messaging app Kik to receive child porn starting after his high school graduation in 2015 until March 2017.
Roache admitted to receiving, viewing and possessing the sickening materials.
The liberal arts school confirmed Roache had been arrested by the bureau on Sept. 7 but could not comment
