Teen girl missing for a month from Woodlawn – Chicago Sun

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a 14-year-old girl who went missing last month from the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

Kiara Jones was last seen Sept. 16 in the 6600 block of South Vernon, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. She frequents the areas of 71st between Bennett to Jeffrey; 79th and Colfax; and 79th and Manistee.

Jones is described as a 5-foot-9, 165-pound black girl with a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair, police said. She was last seen wearing a black-and-white sweater with large white letter on the sleeves, ripped tied blue jeans and either black UGG boots with fur or black sandals with fur.

Jones may also be carrying a blue book bag with white “LOVE PINK” lettering, police said.

Man Missing For A Week Last Seen In Chicago Lawn

CHICAGO (CBS) — Police are looking for a 26-year-old man who was reported missing last week from the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

Marlo Gully was last seen Oct. 9 in the 6300 block of South Rockwell, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

Gulley was described as a 6-foot-3, 225-pound black man with a medium-brown complexion, brown eyes and black hair, police said. He has a marking on his left arm that says “R.I.P. SCRAPP.”

Police said his family is concerned about his well-being.

Man With Dementia Missing From Lawndale « CBS Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 70-year-old man with dementia missing from the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Henry Williams was last seen Sunday near West Polk Street and South Sacramento Boulevard, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. He called a family member that same day from a Walgreens at 5414 S. Archer, and said he was lost.

He is described as a 140-pound, 5-foot-9 African-American man with brown eyes, gray hair and a medium complexion, police said.

Police are looking for a 26-year-old man who went missing last week from the South Shore neighborhood.

Marlo Gully was last seen Oct. 9 near the 1900 block of East 71st Street, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

A 23-year-old man reported missing Saturday by Chicago Police was last seen at a Greyhound bus station in the South Loop.

Robert Ramey was last seen about 6:30 p.m. Friday at the bus station at 6:30 W. Harrison waiting to board a bus for Virginia, police said in a missing person alert.

Ramey was wearing a red and black jogging suit jacket and jeans, police said. He was described as a black man, 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, with brown eyes and curly hair, police said.

Unidentified body found in Chicago has Cleveland, Akron tattoos

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The key to identifying a man whose body was found in Lake Michigan two years ago may lie in his Northeast Ohio-themed tattoos.

The body was pulled from the lake near Chicago’s Navy Pier on June 10, 2015, and bears tattoos that correspond with Cleveland, Akron, and Ohio State University, according to Cook County’s unidentified persons database.

The man is described as Asian and between 20 and 30 years of age. He was 5-feet-8-inches and weighed 122 pounds, the database says.

Tattooed on the man’s left forearm was the outline of the state of Ohio and the phrase “Cleveland 216.” Alongside it is an Ohio State Buckeyes logo, according to the database.

Girl, 17, reported missing from Hermosa was last seen on West Side – Chicago Sun

A 17-year-old girl was reported missing Wednesday from the Northwest Side Hermosa neighborhood.

Tamara Marrero was reported missing from the 1700 block of North Karlov, Chicago Police said in a missing person alert.

Marrero was last seen Sept. 29 in the 300 block of North Pulaski in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. She was described as a 5-foot-2, 125-pound Hispanic girl with blonde hair and brown eyes.

Police said Marrero has a mark from a burn on her right arm.

Marrero was last seen wearing a blue, long-sleeve shirt, blue pants and pink-and-white gym shoes, police said.

Nonprofit says missing 14-year-old girl may travel in Chicago, Gary areas

Ashanti Keys went missing on Sept. 30, 2016, and was last seen in Richton Park, Illinois, according to a news release from the National Center for Missing Exploited Children.

Full federal court to hear ‘Making a Murderer’ appeal – Chicago Sun

MADISON, Wis. — A federal appeals court will consider arguments Tuesday over whether detectives tricked a Wisconsin inmate featured in the “Making a Murderer” series into confessing and whether he should go free in a case that puts police practices in the spotlight.

Oral arguments in Brendan Dassey’s case are before all 12 judges of the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago. Dassey’s lawyers and state attorneys are each expected to speak for half an hour and answer the judges’ questions. A ruling may not come for weeks or months.

Dassey, now 27, was sentenced to life in prison in 2007 in the death of photographer Teresa Halbach two years earlier. He was 16 when he told detectives that he helped his uncle, Steven Avery, rape and kill Halbach in the Avery family’s junkyard in Manitowoc County.
