Trial set for former Capitol Hill teacher facing child porn charge

A former Seattle Academy science teacher facing a federal charge of possessing child pornography is set to go to trial in May.

Gabriel Cronin was fired from the Capitol Hill private school — after having worked there for more than a decade — following his arrest in late November.

Acting on a tip from Cronin’s cousin, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children forwarded that information to the Seattle Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Cronin’s cousin reportedly told investigators the former science teacher and robotics program leader is addicted, and she was compelled to report him due to his profession, according to the complaint filed in U.S. District Court by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Cronin allegedly told investigators he uses The Onion Router to find child pornography and then deletes it afterward, the complaint states.

A forensic examination of Cronin’s work laptop revealed hundreds of thumbnail files, the complaint

Fmr Brendan Dassey Attorney Is Now a Judge Facing Restraining Order from His Clerk

Wisconsin Municipal Judge Len Kachinsky was hit with a restraining order from his court clerk earlier this week, after she accused him of workplace harassment dating back to last spring.

Kachinsky, who first entered the public eye in the Netflix docuseries Making a Murderer as the defense attorney for Brendan Dassey, is the subject of a Wisconsin Judicial Commission investigation related to his alleged treatment of the clerk. The judge denies these allegations, which include repeated emails regarding non-work-related issues despite discussions not to do so (“Feel free to report me to HR,” he allegedly said in one), telling people that the clerk’s job was available or that she was looking for a new job when she wasn’t, putting personal information about her on Facebook, and filing a letter of reprimand against her for not responding to a Christmas greeting.

The judge filed a lawsuit against

Investigators determined some of the video files in question, in a Dropbox account registered to an e-mail for Notch, depicted children involved in sexual actions.

The search warrant also reveals Notch, in a case from 2016, had previously admitted to

“Well, unfortunately, it is a lot more common than it should be,” Gregory said.

Both the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program work daily to combat the issue. Since starting a cyber tip line in 1998, the National Center for Missing and
