Officials probing missing Jacksonville girl’s family around time of her disappearance

Investigators are still trying to build a better timeline around the point 3-year-old Mariah Kay Woods went missing from her Jacksonville home Monday.

With the search entering its fourth day Thursday, officials have asked for any information people may have regarding members of Woods’ immediate family the day before and the day of her disappearance.

“It is crucial that we have a detailed timeline to help us find Mariah,” the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Wednesday evening. “We are still asking anyone that came into contact with members of Mariah’s immediate family on Sunday, November 26th through Monday, November 27th to contact the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.”

Woods is described as a white female with brown hair and blue eyes, about 2-foot-9 weighing about 30 pounds.

Desperate family distributes 1000 flyers and hires pet detective to find Spencer the missing rescue cat

A Belfast couple has distributed almost 1,000 flyers and hired a Dublin pet detective in a desperate bid to track down their poorly rescue cat.

Owner Marta Larkin said: “Spencer is a much loved one-year-old old cat. He is a rescue cat who has a troubled start in life.

“He could barely open his eyes due to his tear ducts not working correctly. An operation on his eyes unfortunately was unsuccessful and now he has to have his eyes cleaned daily and we are desperate to get him home.

“He was last seen on November 17 at Blackstaff garage on Springfield Road, West Belfast.

“We have distributed 600 flyers and purchased a further 300 today to post further in the community in the hope someone somewhere has seen him.

“Myself and my partner hired a pet detective from Dublin who scoured our area but found no sight of him.

“There is a possibility

Family abductions are No. 2 cause of missing children in US

Family abductions make up the second-largest number of children who are reported missing in the United States, with the first being runaways, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

About 230,600 children were abducted by family members in the United States in 2013, according to a U.S. Department of Justice study published this year.

To prevent family abductions, a parent (or guardian) should:

• Seek a custody and visitation order to specify the rights of both parents regarding the child.

• Ask a judge to include prevention provisions in the custody order, including the prohibition or unauthorized pickup of the child and restrictions on the removal of the child from his home state.

• Keep updated photos and a complete written description of the child. Have the child fingerprinted and notify schools, child care centers and babysitters of custody orders.

LANCING, Tenn. (WATE) — A family is searching for a Morgan county man that has gone missing.

Kevin Hamby was last seen near Rich Rd. in Lancing on Tuesday, Nov. 14, around 7 p.m

According to his wife, Connie Hamby, he was wearing jeans, a black baseball cap, gray hoodie and brown shoes. He was driving a white and yellow Polaris 1,000 side-by-side.

“She (Kevin’s wife) had just been back on it, just come back from riding it,” said Kevin’s father Reuben Hamby. “She was cold and said she was going to warm up for awhile and he took off around 7 o’clock, or a little after, and that’s the last time we’ve heard from him.”

Reuben says Kevin has a lengthy medical history including several hip surgeries.

“Just getting around ya know, a long ways, walking through the woods, he can’t walk through the woods because he has to drag that leg,” said Hamby.
