UPDATE: Missing person last seen in East York found

A missing person last seen in East York’s Thorncliffe Park neighbourhood has been found.

Ulysses Segundo had been last seen in the area of Milepost Place and Thorncliffe Park Drive at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6.

The 41 year old was described by Toronto police as five-foot-four with a medium build and long brown hair, and a lady bug tattoo on their face. They had been last seen wearing a brown jacket, black Adidas sweatshirt, pants with white stripes down the sides and Nike shoes, and carrying a brown Calvin Klein bag.

Police released their photo and asked for the public’s help finding them Thursday, Dec. 7, noting investigators were concerned for their safety.

On Friday, Dec. 8, police announced they had been found and thanked those who assisted with the search.

The Missing Person Alert for the 74-year-old man missing from Mount Kisco last seen at a diner in Yonkers Wednesday evening has been canceled, the New York State Public Safety Department said Friday morning.

James Hickman was located safely by police in Clifton, N.J. early Friday morning, the public safety department said.

Girl, 14, found safe after being reported missing on South Side – Chicago Sun

A 14-year-old girl reported missing earlier this week after she was last seen in the Princeton Park neighborhood on the South Side has been found, police said.

Talia Moore was last seen about 10 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of West 91st Street, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

Police said Moore was located and safe Wednesday evening, but did not provide additional information.

Missing elderly woman, last seen in Rindge, found in Rhode Island

A missing elderly woman with dementia who was last seen at the Rindge Market Basket on Monday has been found in Rhode Island, according to police. 

Marion Sargent, 75, of Fitzwilliam, was found in Richmond, Rhode Island, on Tuesday around 6 p.m., according to Fitzwilliam police officer Jeffrey Clark. Clark said Sargent was found after a cab driver reported that Sargent had been driving erratically. 

“She was triple parked the wrong way in a CVS parking lot,” said Clark. “We were told her physical condition was perfectly fine.”

Sargent was reported missing to Fitzwilliam police on Dec. 4, according to a press release. Sargent had left her residence for Rindge Market Basket at about 3 p.m. and was last seen on surveillance video leaving the store at 5:12 p.m. 

Police issued a silver alert and reported her to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person. 

“It was old school police work,” said Clark.

Remains found in Pender County creek ID’d as missing NC 3-year-old Mariah Woods

The Onslow County Sheriff and District Attorney’s offices announced on Wednesday that remains found in Pender County on Saturday are those of missing 3-year-old Jacksonville girl Mariah Kay Woods.

FBI investigators recovered remains believed to be those of Woods on Saturday, and her mother’s boyfriend has been charged in connection with her death.

The Fayetteville Police Department dive team discovered the remains during a search of Shelter Creek along Shaw Highway in Pender County on Dec. 2.

So far, no one has been charged with killing Mariah as of Wednesday afternoon.

Tips sought to help identify remains found 23 years ago in Alcona County

CURTISVILLE – Investigators from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post and the Alcona County Sheriff’s Department (ACSD) are seeking information to help identify human remains found in northern Michigan 23 years ago.

A bow hunter discovered the skeletal remains in October 1994 while walking in a wooded area off Bamfield Road, between Curtisville and the Alcona Dam, according to police. 

The ACSD was the lead investigating agency, with the MSP crime lab assisting in the recovery of the remains from the scene.

Michigan State University anthropologists have determined the remains to be that of a female, 30-50 years old, who was approximately 4 ft. 7 in. to 5 ft.  6 in. tall.

She was likely of European ancestry, but no population group should be excluded, according to authorities.
