A hidden crime: Child sex trafficking is on the rise – The Spokesman

In 2010 Nacole, a Head Start teacher, and her husband Tom, a truck driver, were raising their three children, a 17-year-old son and two younger teenage daughters, in a middle-class suburb in Auburn, Wash.

Their youngest daughter, a 15-year-old, was seemingly a happy teen, a freshman honor student who loved playing the violin and running with her high school’s track team.

One day in March of that year she changed all of their lives forever.

“(She) disappeared. She left a note with a friend, but it didn’t say much,” Nacole said. “In the note, she said she loved us, but she needed to go find herself. She added that if we loved her we shouldn’t go looking for her.”

Stunned at their daughter’s disappearance, Nacole and Tom were frantic and desperate – questioning what had happened to her. It turned their world upside down. The couple reported their daughter missing to

The best hidden gems on each streaming service

Four hidden gems on Amazon Video

Patriot

The weirdest and funniest show you’re not watching, Patriot is a unique black comedy about an American spy who goes undercover at a factory that makes industrial piping in order to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. A delicious combination of the Jason Bourne series and Office Space, Patriot might be a bit of an acquired taste, but it’s one you should see if you have a palette for. It’s also a sneaky satire of American capitalism and features actor Terry O’Quinn’s best role since his Emmy-winning turn as John Locke on Lost.

Justified

A brilliant show from top to bottom, Justified is squarely among the great American dramas of the decade. Unfortunately, it was overshadowed by other cable dramas, in both the ratings and awards departments, but it deserved far more attention. Based on a character

A Chevy Chase man is accused of placing a camera in a unisex bathroom at a Silver Spring gymnastics center for kids, police said Friday.

Jonathan Oldale, 54, of Greystone Court, allegedly left a backpack containing a recording camera in the bathroom of Silver Star Gymnastics and Fitness Club in May, according to Montgomery County police. His children were enrolled in classes there, police said.

After searching his computer, police found videos of children urinating in bathrooms, but said they believe he downloaded them and did not record them. Detectives have not located any videos of people being recorded in the Silver Spring gymnastics studio.

An employee of the Pitman Drive club called police May 5 to report a “suspicious situation,” according to police.

The employee told police
