(Updated at 3:10 p.m.) Arlington County Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened in Clarendon this morning.

Police were called to the TD Bank on the 3100 block of Wilson Blvd, just across from the Clarendon Metro, around 11 a.m.

A man entered the bank, passed a note to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, said ACPD spokeswoman Ashley Savage. The suspect did not display or imply a weapon. He remains at large.

ACPD issued the following press release Friday afternoon.

Virginia Beach Police investigating New Year’s Day hit-and-run

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach authorities are investigating a hit-and-run that happened near the intersection of South Independence Boulevard and Bonney Road on New Year’s Day.

Police, fire and emergency medical services personnel responded to the scene around 1:40 a.m.

An investigation revealed that there was a crash involving a white Dodge Durango and a gray Ford Focus. The driver of the Durango fled the scene on foot while the driver of the Ford Focus sustained life threatening injuries.

Authorities are seeking the identity of the driver of the Dodge Durango. The crash is currently being investigated by the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team (FACT).

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw someone flee the scene of the accident is asked to call lead investigator MPO T. Aicherat TAICHER@vbgov.com.

Franklin Police investigating double shooting

FRANKLIN, Va. – Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 300 block of Madison Street.

It happened Tuesday around 10:19 p.m.

While officers were investigating a shots fired call, they received information that two gunshot victims arrived at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

When they arrived at the hospital, they learned two men, ages 22 and 29, were being treated for gunshot wounds.

Officers tried to interview the victims, but they were uncooperative.

The victims were later taken to a local trauma center for further treatment.

Police say three houses were struck by gunfire during this incident. There are no other injuries associated with the houses being struck.

Multiple cartridge casings of various pistol and rifle calibers were found in the area.

The Pentagon Has Been Investigating UFOs, New Report Reveals

A new report by the New York Times reveals the extent to which the Pentagon has been investigating UFOs.

Documents that have been recently declassified or acquired reveal that the Defense Department has spent at least $22 million on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, which is intended to track and research unidentified flying objects. The Defense Department has never acknowledged the existence of the program before, but now says it shut down in 2012.

However, people who work or have worked for the program say that only the government funding was eliminated in 2012. They say there are still office in the Pentagon dedicated to this type of research and still people in positions of power looking for answers.

Harry Reid, the democratic senator from Nevada and former Senate majority leader, had a large part in starting the program back in 2007. He saw to it that

Harrisonburg Police Investigating Recent Thefts from Motor Vehicles

Harrisonburg Police Department Press Release:

Harrisonburg, Va. – The Harrisonburg Police Department is investigating recent thefts from motor vehicles throughout the city, which have occurred in multiple locations. In recent years, the vehicle break-ins have occurred primarily when owners leave their vehicles unlocked during night time hours.

Thieves are now targeting both locked and unlocked vehicles, using force when necessary to gain entry. Recent thefts have occurred between Wednesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 13.

The thefts occurred at the Smithland Road Dog Park and in the area of South Dogwood Drive, in which valuables were taken from both locations.
