The Greater Capital District Ride for Missing Children will be held on Sept. 29. Commitment training ride dates are posted on the FaceBook page and taking place during the rest of the summer, to build community awareness about this ride and encourage new riders to join the effort.  New and former event riders are encouraged to join.

The day-long, 100-mile ride has two purposes. First, the riders raise money for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, all of which goes towards making posters. Secondly, the riders stop at local schools to interact with students and bring the message of child safety and abduction. Prior to the ride, abduction safety assemblies are held at each of the schools to teach students lifelong safety tactics.

“I ride for my brother Craig Frear,” said Matt Frear. “It will be 13 years since my phone rang and the words my mother said changed my life
