Child porn found on laptop, phone leads to charges against Lafayette man

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A Lafayette man has been charged after exploitative images of children were found stored on his online accounts and personal electronic devices.

Court documents say that on Feb. 15, 2015, prosecutors received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip was sent after an email service provider suspected child pornography had been stored in an account belonging to 26-year-old Andrew D. Boat.

A police investigation of the account turned up illicit images dating back as far as Nov. 3, 2014.

Later, on June 29, 2015, a social media company reported images of child pornography in one of their user’s accounts under the name “SarahWesting,” later found to belong to Boat.

According to the company’s records, the images had been shared among other users of the socia media service.

Child pornography investigation leads to Kenosha man

An investigation into the sharing of child pornography on the internet led state investigators to a Kenosha man who was allegedly using a false female persona on Facebook to share images.

Robert Craig, 61, of Kenosha, was charged Thursday with 16 counts of possession of child pornography. He has not yet appeared in court.

According to the criminal complaint, the investigation into Craig began in late 2015 when the United States Department of Homeland Security tipped off an agent from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation that a North Dakota investigation had turned up images of child pornography that were associated with an email account associated with a residence in Kenosha.

Then, in 2016, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported to state investigators that an image of suspected child pornography was uploaded to a Facebook account for an MJ Walker and associated with the same Kenosha address.

Pueblo officers subsequently announced that they had looked for Schelling in various parts of the city using canines “specialized in searching for missing persons.” But no breakthroughs emerged.

Then, at an April news conference, Schelling’s family revealed new information about the pregnancy that motivated her drive to Pueblo, as well as details about her boyfriend.

Images of Kelsie Schelling accompany a poignant message.

According to Laura Saxton, Schelling’s mother, her daughter got confirmation of her pregnancy on the day she vanished. Doctor’s records show that she was eight weeks pregnant, with the presumed father being her boyfriend, Lucas, who
