Speaker sheds light on trafficking problem domestically, abroad

More men, women and children are in some form of bondage today than any other time in human history, Matt Osborne of Operation Underground Railroad said during a human trafficking conference held in Hot Springs earlier this week.

The Human Trafficking Task Force of Garland County, in partnership with the Ouachita Area Youth Council and National Park College, hosted the Mobilizing Communities Against Human Trafficking conference Thursday in the Frederick M. Dierks building at NPC.

Held on National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, the conference gave the 300 attendees a look at how task forces and organizations are working around the globe to end human trafficking, and how their tools can be used on a local level.

Human Trafficking is a global problem in both cities and small towns across the nation, a news release said. Forced labor and human trafficking

Detectives have confirmed they were confident they have found the missing teenager after a body was recovered from a coastal path in Swanage, near to where items of her clothing were found on Thursday.

Dorset Police said the discovery was made at 3pm yesterday but the announcement came five hours later. It is understood the delay could be due to identification issues.

In an emotional interview last night, Gaia’s sister and cousin broke down on television as they thanked the

We need to shed light on wrongful convictions

Lamonte McIntyre, 41, walked out of a Kansas prison as a free man on Oct. 13 after spending 23 years behind bars. He was only 17 years old when he received two life sentences for the murders of two individuals involved in a drive-by shooting in Kansas City 23 years ago.

Lamonte’s mother, Rose McIntyre, wonders if her son would not have been convicted if she would have just agreed to the sexual favors the white detective on the case had asked of her. The Midwest Innocent Project was a part of the eight-year process to get Lamonte released from prison due to manifest injustice. During that period, many documents and witnesses came forward explaining that the detective had been praying on African-American women like Rose for years. Even though Lamonte was recently released, they are still working on sorting out the pieces that left this innocent man behind bars

Lowe’s Truck Runs Red Light And All Hell Breaks Loose

If you think that traffic lights are just another way The Man keeps you in check, like chemtrails but with colored light, then I suggest you watch this terrifying dashcam video of what happens when you run a red light. This wreck involving a red-light-ignoring Lowe’s truck happened in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and you can see why the video is going viral.

The red Hyundai that hit the Lowe’s truck that barreled through the intersection is pretty lucky, if you don’t count the awful luck of happening to run into the side of a big rig. They’re lucky because they hit the tire and didn’t go under the truck, which usually results in some horrific results, sometimes including decapitation.

Incredibly, none of the injuries sustained in the wreck appear

Photo: Netflix

Whether it’s the manga, the anime, or this new, American-made live-action movie, Death Note has always been about a young man with a god complex who goes uses a magic book to go on a murder spree with global ramifications. But in this newest clip for Netflix’s upcoming adaptation, we’re taken to the very beginning—the fateful moment where the death god Ryuk (Willem Dafoe) first meets Light (Nat Wolff) and explains to him how he can use the Death Note to punish the wicked.

While Light goes on to become Death Note’s truest villain, Ryuk is fascinating here. Beyond Dafoe’s well-known talent for playing incredibly creepy, fantastic villains, you can see that, at least on some level, Ryuk isn’t simply acting as the impartial arbiter of mortality that
