McHenry upgrades Nixle alert system | Northwest Herald

McHENRY – The city of McHenry and the McHenry Police Department have upgraded their Nixle alert system.

Officials said the $5,000 upgrade will improve communication between city departments and McHenry residents. Nixle is a text, email and telephone alert service that allows governmental organizations to let subscribers know of major events and advisories in real time.

Northwest Side missing man found Sunday – Chicago Tribune

A Northwest Side man who police believed could harm himself was found Sunday, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department. 

David Nevarez, 27, who lives in the Cragin neighborhood, had been reported missing after he had last been seen about 2:30 p.m. Friday near the NBC Tower, around 400 N. Columbus Drive, according to a police missing person alert. He was found Sunday, Chicago police said. 

Detectives had classified the case as one of a “high-risk” missing person.

Northwest ISD Board Member Arrested; Facing Child Pornography Charges – NBC 5 Dallas

A Northwest ISD school board member is facing possession of child pornography charges. Mel Fuller was arrested by Trophy Club police on Tuesday.

Investigators say a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest.

Fuller was elected as the Place 7 trustee in 2008.

The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees says they were notified of Fuller’s resignation on Wednesday.

Woman, 59, missing from Northwest Side – Chicago Sun

A woman has been reported missing from the city’s Northwest Side.

Ann Mitchell, 59, was last seen Oct. 20 in the 8500 block of West Foster, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

She was described as a 5-foot-7, 170-pound white woman with red hair, green eyes and a light complexion, police said.

Mitchell has been depressed lately, police said. She may also have a surgical scar on her abdomen.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts was asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8266.

Critical Missing Person: 13-Year-Old Girl From Northwest

WASHINGTON, DC — Police are searching for a 13-year-old girl who went missing from Northwest Washington Sunday.

Juliana Amaya-Gonzalez was last seen in the 1400 block of Columbia Road, NW, police said. She was wearing a black shirt, black pants and black shoes at the time of her disappearance.

Police describe Amaya-Gonzalez as a Hispanic female with a light complexion, 5’4”, 132 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Juliana Amaya-Gonzalez is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, the Youth and Family Services Division at 202-576-6768, or 911.

Woman missing from Northwest Side home for 2 weeks: Cops

Chicago police are asking for help finding a woman who disappeared almost two weeks ago from her Albany Park home.

Ngan Nguyen, 60, was last seen about 10 a.m. Aug. 14 at her home in the 4800 block of North Harding Avenue, according to a police missing-person alert.

Although Nguyen’s family told police she had no “mental or physical disabilities,” she did leave a note written in Vietnamese “mentioning that she was disappointed with herself and if anything happened to her, she would be here spiritually,” according to the alert.

Nguyen is described an Asian woman with an olive complexion, standing about 5-foot-2 and weighing about 115 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Police had not yet gotten a description of the clothing she was wearing when she disappeared.

14-year-old girl last seen in northwest Dallas found safe

Madelin Castellanos was seen about 7 p.m. in the 3200 block of Chapel Creek Drive, near Webb Chapel Extension. 

Madelin is a 5-foot, 114-pound white teen with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a red T-shirt, black pants and black shoes. 

She is on foot and frequently uses the DART rail system. Detectives think Madelin may be a danger to herself or others. 

Anyone with information on Madelin’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Dallas police at 214-671-4268.

Family looking for missing daughter in Pacific Northwest gets boost from US centre

A Saskatchewan family desperate to find their missing daughter, believed to be in the Pacific Northwest, is hopeful a new powerful resource involved in their search will finally help lead them to her.

The American National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, or NCMEC, has been disseminating information about 18-year-old Mekayla Bali, who was last seen in Yorkton, Sask., in April 2016.

Several tips have centred the search for her in Vancouver, B.C. Now tips have come in from Seattle and Portland.

“And so we’re really, really fortunate that [NCMEC] partnered with us in the search up in that Northwest area,” said Paula Bali, Mekayla’s mom.

Man last seen in northwest Dallas found safe

Updated 10:20 p.m.: Edward Henderson was found and is safe. 

Original item: Dallas police are searching for a man who has threatened to harm himself and others. 

Edward Henderson, 30, was last seen three weeks ago in northeast Dallas, in the 6200 block of Melody Lane, near Northwest Highway between Greenville Avenue and Skillman Street.

He is described as 6 feet tall and and 175 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Critical Missing Person: 16-Year-Old Missing From Northwest

WASHINGTON, DC — The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 16-year-old girl.

Shayauna Evans was last seen in the 1400 block of Columbia Road, NW, on Tuesday June 6, police said.

Police describe Evans as a black female, medium brown-complexion, 5’5” in height, 130 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue pants, black jacket and black high-top sneakers.
