Body pulled from South Platte River, fears it could be missing Minnesota man last seen in December

Denver rescue crews pulled a body from the South Platte River Saturday afternoon, stoking fears it could be a man who was last seen early Dec. 15.

The body was found near the river just south of Interstate 25’s Alameda Avenue exit about 2:30 p.m. Saturday. It was discovered by a member of a volunteer search crew looking for 29-year-old Adam Gilbertson, who has been the focus of his family’s intense efforts to discover his whereabouts.

“The majority of the search party that set out today, don’t even know Adam,” said Mark Wonder, who was a member of a group of volunteers that set out Saturday morning to find any traces of Gilbertson. “We wanted to try to take the route that he may have gone, kind of retraced his steps.

The volunteers, family members and friends met near South Bannock Street and West Alameda and then fanned out to begin searching

Family worried about Campbell River teen missing for almost a month

A Campbell River family is growing increasingly desperate to find a teen who has been missing for almost a month.

Jordan Holling hasn’t been seen since the early morning of Oct. 16, when he left a friend’s house on 16th Avenue in Campbell River to walk the few blocks home. He never arrived at his mother’s house on 17th Avenue and failed to show up for work later that day.

“We have no idea what happened to him,” said Nachelle Hicks, Holling’s aunt.

Holling’s 18th birthday was Nov. 1, a sombre day for his parents and two younger siblings, she said. Holling, a computer whiz, is two credits away from graduating from Carihi Secondary School, Hicks said.

Campbell River RCMP are investigating and say the disappearance is out of character for Holling.

In the days after his disappearance, police officers went door to door trying to piece together his movements.
