Suspect wanted in armed robbery of Hopewell convenience store

HOPEWELL, Va. — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect accused of robbing a Hopewell convenience store Wednesday night.

At approximately 9:11p.m., officers responded to the “Corner Store” located in the 2200 Block of Atlantic Street for an armed robbery.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the lone offender entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. After receiving an undisclosed amount of currency, the offender then fled the business on foot,” said a police spokesperson.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Suspect sought in Hopewell convenience store armed robbery

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — Hopewell Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect who robbed a local convenience store at gunpoint.

The incident occurred at around 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21. According to police, the suspect walked into the Corner Store business located in the 2200 block of Atlantic Street, brandished a firearm and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-11 black male with a slender build and prescription-style glasses, between the ages of 18-24 and roughly 150-160 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark-colored jeans, a black hooded zip-up style jacket, black sneakers. He was also in possession of a dark-colored handgun.

UPDATE: Police in St. Mary’s County Investigating Armed Robbery at Lighthouse Liquors in Charlotte Hall

st marys county sheriffs officeUPDATE – Official St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Press Release: On February 13, 2018, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lighthouse Liquors located on Three Notch Road, in Charlotte Hall, for the report of an armed robbery.

Contact was made with an employee/victim who advised an unknown suspect entered the business armed with a knife, and demanded money. A brief struggle ensued between the victim and the suspect; ultimately the suspect was able to flee the business with an undisclosed amount of money. As a result of the struggle, the victim sustained injuries which required medical treatment from a local hospital. The investigation was continued by the Criminal Investigations Division, and the suspect is described as a black male with a thin build, between the ages of 25-35 years old. Salisbury armored truck robbery: Police release audio


Salisbury police are investigating an armed robbery of an armored truck driver on Monday morning.

Police have released an audio recording of a Salisbury armored truck robbery in hopes that members of the public might recognize the voices of the suspects involved.

A Loomis armored truck driver who was filling the ATM at the SECU Credit Union on Mount Hermon Road on Jan. 22 was approached by three men armed with handguns who bound his hands and demanded money, according to police.

Woman wanted in Chesterfield County bank robbery

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Police are searching for a woman who they say robbed a Chesterfield County bank Friday afternoon.

The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. at the Bank of Southside Virginia branch at 4310 West Hundred Road.

Police said the suspect walked in the bank, approached a teller and passed a note demanding money. After the teller complied, the woman fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No weapon was displayed, and no one was injured during the bank robbery.

The suspect is described as a black female, about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build and black shoulder length hair. The suspect was seen wearing a black jacket and a black ball cap.

UVA’s Innocence Clinic Wins Release of Man Convicted of Armed Robbery

The Innocence Project Clinic at the University of Virginia School of Law has secured a conditional pardon for its client, Messiah Johnson, who the clinic argued was wrongly convicted of armed robbery.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe signed orders Friday for the release of Johnson and five others in separate cases. In doing so, he noted the sentences were “far outside what should have been adequate to keep Virginia safe.”

Johnson had been sentenced to 132 years in prison.

“Mr. Johnson has served over 20 years for this crime and yet there are serious questions about his guilt – he has always maintained his innocence and there is credible evidence that he was not guilty at all,” the governor’s office said in its afternoon statement.

Johnson was convicted in 1998 of taking part in the robbery of a hair salon in Norfolk. The clinic alleges Johnson was misidentified as one of the disguised men (“Robber

Two Sought in Salisbury Store Robbery – WBOC-TV 16, Delmarvas …

Delaware State Police finished investigation into suspected drug dealing, with in the arrest of two people in Dover Friday. Police carried out a narcotics search warrant at a home, in the 100 block of Jeri Lane. Upon entering the home, police located Carlisle Lindmark, 20, and Jazmyne Harris, 20, and took them in to custody without incident. Police say they found 65.41 grams of Marijuana, 3 un-prescribed Alprazolam pills and $3000 in suspected drug money.
