Two Salisbury children reported missing

Salisbury Police are seeking the public’s help in searching for two missing children. 

12-year-old Key’nya Smith and 14-year-old Key’asia Smith were last seen Friday night at 1008 Adams Ave. in Salisbury, across from James M. Bennett High School. 

Both are considered critically missing due to their age, but there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding their disappearance, police say. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at (410)548-3165. Anonymous information may be forwarded to the department through Crime Solvers at (410) 548-1776.

Man, 20, fatally shot in Salisbury early Saturday morning

Police are seeking suspect in an overnight shooting leaving one man dead.

At approximately 1:48 a.m., officers from Salisbury Police Department were called to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for a shooting victim.

According to Salisbury Police, the victim was shot leaving a party with a friend at the VFW located on the 800 block of West Main Street. Just after 1:00 a.m., dozens of people, including the victim convened to the parking lot at the area location.

Based upon preliminary investigation, the male was approached by an unidentified suspect and shot in the torso, according to police. The suspect then fled the scene, leaving only one subject injured. The male then was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The male victim has been identified as Jaquanta S. Waktin, 20, of Salisbury.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit has assumed responsibility in this investigation.
