Armed Robbery Suspects Wanted In Silver Spring – Patch

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery of a Shell gas station in Silver Spring.

The two suspects entered the gas station at 100 University Blvd. W. at about 8:31 p.m. Dec. 10. They had their faces concealed, wore all black and one man was armed with a gun, police said.

Police said the men entered the gas station and confronted an adult employee who was working behind the counter. They demanded money and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, police said. They then fled from the store on foot toward Sutherland Road.

Police Seek Help Identifying Culprits Who Robbed Silver Spring Gas Station

Montgomery County police detectives released a surveillance video Friday from a Dec. 10 armed robbery of a Silver Spring Shell gas station in hopes someone can help identify the two culprits.

The robbery occurred about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the station 100 University Blvd. West.

According to a police statement, two perpetrators with concealed faces, entered the gas station and confronted an adult employee who was working behind the counter.  One man was armed, police said.

The robbers demanded money and after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash from the register they fled toward Sutherland Road, police said.

Update: Police Say Man Was Shot Dead in Silver Spring

Body of 18-year-old found Sunday

Updated 9:45 a.m. Dec. 27: An 18-year-old man was found fatally shot in Silver Spring on Sunday, Montgomery County police said.

Police identified the teenager on Tuesday as Jose Herrera from Silver Spring.

Police said in a press release that the man’s body was found, with apparent gunshot wounds, outside 1010 Quebec Terrace. An autopsy determined he died from multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death as a homicide.

Police said officers and fire and rescue workers were called to Quebec Terrace, near Piney Branch Road, at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday for a report of an assault and gunshot noises.

After finding the body, officers searched the area with the help of a police K-9, but did not find whoever shot the man.

No other information was released about the shooting.

The skeletal remains found in a wooded area in Brookeville have been identified as a teen from Silver Spring, according to police.

The chief medical examiner’s office in Baltimore determined the body was Harry Ryan Detwiler, 19, of the 10700 block of Margate Road, according to a Montgomery County police press release. His family reported him missing to police in September.

A report on the National Center for Missing Exploited Children website says Detwiler had been missing since May 15 and was last seen in Silver Spring.

A dog walker noticed what appeared to be human bones in the woods on Nov. 12 and called police. When officers arrived, they found a shallow grave with skeletal remains.

Police are investigating the incident as a suspicious

Police: Men Who Shot Resident in Silver Spring Robbery Targeted Family When They Returned from Work

One robber at large; another person arrested in D.C. Wednesday morning

Two men who shot a man in the leg during a robbery early Wednesday morning in Silver Spring allegedly targeted the house and waited for the residents to return from work, so they could steal cash from them, police said.

The men robbed two women and shot a man who tried to intervene in the 9300 block of New Hampshire Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. After they fled in a car, one man—Marlow Jenard Johnson, 25—was arrested in Washington, D.C., less than an hour later. Police were continuing to search for a second robber.

Cosby retrial date postponed to spring

NORRISTOWN, Pa. – At the pretrial hearing for former university trustee Bill Cosby’s sexual assault case, a judge approved the defense’s motion to push back the retrial to spring.

Cosby’s new defense team also made its first courtroom appearance Tuesday morning at the Montgomery County Courthouse in front of Court of Common Pleas Judge Steven T. O’Neill.

Sam Silver, a board member of the Pennsylvania Innocence Project at the Beasley School of Law, is one of the new members of Cosby’s defense. A university spokesperson declined to comment on Silver and Cosby’s shared Temple connection. 

Cosby is also newly represented by California attorney Tom Mesereau, who helped get Michael Jackson acquitted of child molestation in 2005, and Kathleen Bliss, an attorney from Nevada.
