We Have Set Up a System to Sex Traffic American Children

Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) introduced legislation in 2017 to amend an antiquated 1996 law that was ostensibly enacted to protect freedom of expression on the Internet, but, as Sen. Portman’s bill describes, allowed website operators (most prominently, Backpage ) to facilitate the sale of sex with victims of sex trafficking. In many of these cases, the victims are children.

The frequency of child sex abuse is a true epidemic. Since at least 2000, the U.S. Department of Justice has reported that some 67 percent of all sexual assaults are committed against victims under 18 years old.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports confirmed child sexual abuse cases number approximately 58,000 per year in recent years.

Los Angeles Man Gets Message Across By Repeatedly Slamming Car Into Traffic

History indicates that this video showing a man repeatedly plowing his automobile into the cars in front of him in assumed outrage but perhaps some other motive may not be unusual behavior in present day Los Angeles.

Modern automobiles feature a suite of suitable gadgets and options to enable motorists to effectively communicate with one another. There are the turn signals to help communicate direction. You can flash your headlights as a warning, or signal of danger, or a lurking cop. Sometimes there are even opportunities for direct verbal confrontation. Heaven forbid, but even the horn could be used to communicate in extreme circumstances.

But often we find that communication breaks down in highly stressful environments where individuals may be angry or otherwise pressured. It’s an unfortunate reality, but all of us have

Traffic cameras scan license plates to catch stolen vehicles

Memorial Villages police call it an invisible line of defense. It’s a watchful eye keeping tabs on any unwanted visitors entering the neighborhood.

“Most of our criminals come from somewhere else. They come here to break into houses or break into cars,” Assistant Chief Ray Schultz said.

The department is looking at a new program that would take crime fighting to specific intersections. Cameras could soon be posted around the three villages they patrol: Bunker Hill, Piney Point and Hunter’s Creek.

“It grabs the image of the license plate and checks it in the database to see if the vehicle comes back stolen or wanted,” Schultz said.

It’s similar to the system Sugar Land has been testing since September 2015.

The camera’s job is to deter crime and help solve crime. The cameras can help link the license plate of a suspect vehicle to the person responsible.
