Police are looking for a suspect they say tried to rob a Salisbury Best Western during the weekend.

Officers responded to the Best Western on North Salisbury Boulevard at about 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7 for a report of an attempted robbery, Salisbury Police Capt. Rich Kaiser said during Tuesday’s weekly briefing.

“The investigation revealed that a sole male suspect had entered the business through the front door,” he said. “He immediately approached the counter as well as the sole employee that was working and demanded money.”

The man implied he had a gun, Kaiser said, but never actually displayed one.

Mascoutah IL Catholic priest under investigation | Belleville News … – Belleville News

The associate pastor of Holy Childhood Church and school in Mascoutah was taken into police custody Monday morning, according to the state’s attorney.

The priest was identified as the Rev. Gerald R. Hechenberger.

“We have been working with Belleville (police) and the task force for several weeks and we anticipate they will be submitting evidence collected pursuant to a search warrant we issued within the next 48 hours to be reviewed for charges involving Gerald Hechenberger,” St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly said.

Earlier in the day, Belleville police issued a statement saying a Mascoutah resident was identified as being in possession of child pornography, but the police statement did not identify the resident. A police captain confirmed that Belleville police officers were at the church at 419 East Church St. around 7 a.m. Monday.

Revised plea deal under review in child porn case

A plea agreement is under consideration in the case of three people charged with possession of child pornography.

Parameswaran Somasundaram, Sundram Allagan and Yvonne Mesa Asuncion appeared in the Superior Court yesterday for a hearing. Attorneys for the defendants and the government acknowledged that a plea offer was presented and a counter offer was made.

“It’s a revised offer, for all three,” Assistant Attorney General Peter Santos informed the judge.

The attorneys for Somasundaram and Allagan, John Bell and Jeffrey Moots, acknowledged that they had received the discovery, or documents related to the case. They asked for a week or two to consider the latest offer.

“We still have some evidentiary issues,” said Bell.

Asuncion’s attorney, Kristin Smith, said her office is waiting to review the discovery in the case, specifically the pictures of the alleged child pornography that was allegedly found on her client’s cellphone.

Santos said there was nothing further to give.

“This is a

Sextortion and Non-Consensual Pornography Will Be Criminalized Under State Law – WKBW

Albany, N.Y. (WKBW) – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today unveiled the 11th proposal of the 2018 State of the State: a comprehensive plan to outlaw “sextortion” and non-consensual pornography, often known as “revenge porn.” Under these new measures, a conviction for any of these serious offenses will require registration as a sex offender and sentences will range from a class A Misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail or three years of probation, or up to a class C Felony, punishable by up to fifteen years in prison.

“The dangerous proliferation of sextortion and revenge crimes disproportionately targets young women and girls and causes harm and embarrassment that can follow victims their entire lives,” Governor Cuomo said. “This new legislation outlaws this horrific, exploitive practice once and for all in New York and will help provide New Yorkers with peace of mind both on- and offline.”

Under this proposal, which

YouTuber with ties to St. Louis allegedly under investigation for questionable videos

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — A famous YouTuber who once pulled in millions of subscribers had his account removed by YouTube as part of a mass cleansing of exploitative content on the video-sharing website.

Greg Chism, a resident of St. Charles County, ran the “Toy Freaks” YouTube channel with his two daughters. At its peak, Toy Freaks had 8 million subscribers and was ranked as the 68th most popular account on YouTube. The channel, which was directed towards young children, often portrayed the 46-year-old and his daughters portrayed as babies with pacifiers and other toddler-like accessories.

According to BuzzFeed News, one of the videos Chism posted including his youngest daughter “peeing” on her older sister.

Wednesday, the Times of London reported both Missouri and Illinois child protective services received reports of “potential abuse concerning videos uploaded” by Chism. However, the news outlet said an anonymous source, a man from
