Waldorf man charged with stabbing his mother | WUSA9.com

WALDORF, MD. (WUSA9) – Charles County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 32-year-old Waldorf man in connection with the murder of his mother.

Mario Marchell Dunn is accused of stabbing his mother, Swanda Ruegenea Dunn, 57, while they were driving home from a relative’s house.

Her body was found on January 11th on Old Washington Road, near Smallwood Drive.

Police said that after the murder, Dunn removed his mother from the vehicle and left her in the roadway.

Loved ones said Swanda Dunn was a long time employee with the DC Department of Corrections and is described as kind, loving, and someone who enjoyed life.

Deputies found the victim with no ID.

The sheriff’s department posted pictures of Swanda Dunn’s tattoos on Facebook to ask for help identifying her body.

Dunn was arrested when police recovered evidence linking him to the crime after serving a search warrant

Unidentified woman found dead in Waldorf

An unidentified, middle-aged woman was found dead in Waldorf last night; police believe she was murdered and are seeking her identity. 

On Jan. 11 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Charles County Sheriff Officers were called to the area of Old Washington Road near Smallwood Drive after a citizen reported seeing a female lying on the ground in the roadway. The woman was deceased, and police reported it to be suspicious.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives are hoping to identify the victim, who they believe was murdered. Unfortunately, she did not have any identification on her person when she was located.

The victim, who is described as a black female possibly in her late 30s to 40s, had two distinct tattoos: a cherub and a design. The Cherub Angel tattoo, is on her left shoulder blade. A design of some sorts is on her right inner wrist. She was wearing a black top with

UPDATE – 12/18/2017: On December 16, 2017, Charles County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Nicholas Jabbar Williams, 20, of Waldorf, in connection with the murder of Cameron Marcel Townsend, 18, of Brandywine, who was shot and killed on December 14 in the intersection of Holly Avenue and Spruce Street in Waldorf.

As detectives continue to investigate, a clear motive has not been established nor is it known why the victim and suspect were in that area.

Investigation did reveal the victim and suspect knew each other.

Williams was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and other related charges.

Updated Dec. 15 at approximately 11:45 a.m. 

An 18-year-old man of Brandywine was found dead by police in Waldorf after being shot on Holly Avenue on Dec. 14. 

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office released information that officers responded to shooting at approximately 8:25 p.m. Dec. 14. 

Upon arrival, officers located a victim not breathing and suffering from several gunshot wounds to his torso. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and was later identified as Cameron Townsend, 18, of Brandywine.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored vehicle fleeing the scene after gunshots were heard. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to assume the investigation, according to the CCSO.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and leg, according to a CCSO press release. The victim was subsequently flown to a hospital for treatment and is currently in critical condition.

A second victim was on the scene, who was not injured during the incident. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to assume the investigation. The on-scene investigation revealed the victims met with the suspect, identified as Trevon Chisley, 22, of Waldorf at a hotel in Waldorf on the evening of Sept. 30. The 22-year-old suspect allegedly involved in a shooting and attempted murder in Waldorf early Sunday turned himself in around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2. 

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office was in search of  whereabouts of Trevon Chisley of Waldorf since Sunday morning, said Janelle Love, with CCSO media relations.

Waldorf father kills self, toddler & teen in domestic-related shooting

– A Waldorf father killed his two daughters and shot his wife before turning the gun on himself inside their home in a domestic-related shooting Thursday night, police say. 

Officers were called to a townhouse in the 3300 block of Westdale Court on Thursday night around 8:17 p.m. for a report of multiple shots fired. When police arrived they found a 36-year-old woman outside of the home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Inside of the home, officials found her husband, Carlton Goodwin, 37, dead on the living room floor with a gun beside him. Officials say he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The couple’s daughter, Laila Goodwin, 4, was found dead in a bedroom upstairs. Another daughter, and Laila’s sister, Lashelle Goodwin, 17, was found in the upstairs bathroom suffering from several gunshot wounds.

DETECTIVES OBTAIN ARREST WARRANT IN MURDER CASE / CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD

Charles County Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division have identified a suspect wanted in connection with the murder of Miaquita Gray, who was shot and killed last week. An arrest warrant has been obtained for Anthony Dangelo Wilkins, 33, of Waldorf. The details of the shooting are as follows:

On February 4 at 1:25 a.m., officers responded to a business, Beer 4 U, located at 2177 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two people with gunshot wounds. Miaquita Gray, 26, of Lexington Park, had a gunshot wound to the upper body; she was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased. A 24-year-old male was grazed in the leg during the shooting.  A preliminary investigation revealed there had been an altercation inside the business
