Woman Missing From West Side For More Than a Month, Police Say

Police are looking for a woman who has been missing for more than a month from the Near West Side.

Mikaela “Miki” Snyder, 25, was last seen Nov. 8 and has been reported missing from the 100 block of North Ashland, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

Snyder is described as a 5-foot-1, 130-pound white woman with green eyes, brown hair and a light complexion, police said. She has several ear piercings and tattoos on the back of her neck and on her right foot.

She was last seen wearing black and white flip-flops and may also be wearing a zippered black hooded jacket, blue jeans, purple plastic-framed glasses and a gray, black and white sweater, police said. Her hair may be slightly longer than it is in the photo police have released.

Snyder has been known to frequent west suburban Darien and north suburban Glenview,

Missing Person: Have You Seen Shanaya? Possible Abduction of 24 Year Old Woman

PATERSON, NJ — The Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into a possible abduction in the city Tuesday night.

According to an alert issued by both agencies, Shanaya Coley, 24, Paterson, was injured and possibly abducted in her own vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Altima, with New Jersey license plate R74-HRX.

Coley was last seen in the area of Colonial Avenue in Paterson at approximately 10:49 p.m. on Tuesday.

Baton Rouge woman shot in apparent murder-suicide dies, marking …

With the death Thursday of a woman who was shot earlier this week by her boyfriend, the number of killings in East Baton Rouge Parish hit a record number, according to the FBI’s crime statistics and records maintained by The Advocate.

Authorities identified the victim as 34-year-old LaQuetra Pidgeon.

Police have said that Pidgeon was shot by her boyfriend, 29-year-old Daniel Johnson, who then shot and killed himself. Johnson died in Pidegon’s Banyan Trace Drive home and Pidgeon died in a hospital two days later.

The death marks a record high of 97 homicides in one year for East Baton Rouge Parish with about three weeks still remaining before the end of 2017, according to records maintained by The Advocate. 

The previous record for the most intentional and unjustified killings in the parish was 96 in 2007, according to the FBI’s uniform crime report statistics.

Missing elderly woman, last seen in Rindge, found in Rhode Island

A missing elderly woman with dementia who was last seen at the Rindge Market Basket on Monday has been found in Rhode Island, according to police. 

Marion Sargent, 75, of Fitzwilliam, was found in Richmond, Rhode Island, on Tuesday around 6 p.m., according to Fitzwilliam police officer Jeffrey Clark. Clark said Sargent was found after a cab driver reported that Sargent had been driving erratically. 

“She was triple parked the wrong way in a CVS parking lot,” said Clark. “We were told her physical condition was perfectly fine.”

Sargent was reported missing to Fitzwilliam police on Dec. 4, according to a press release. Sargent had left her residence for Rindge Market Basket at about 3 p.m. and was last seen on surveillance video leaving the store at 5:12 p.m. 

Police issued a silver alert and reported her to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person. 

“It was old school police work,” said Clark.
