Take Note: Innocence Project Director On Working To Free The Wrongly Convicted

As the victim of bullying since childhood, Aija Mayrock fought back writing “The Survival Guide to Bullying” in her teens.  As she says today at 22, “I realized that I had to create a little, yet powerful survival guide that any kid could use as a life-saving device when they were being bullied in the gym, the cafeteria, the locker room, the class room, the hallways — anywhere.  A guide that could be a road map, a flashlight, or a friend. So here it is. This book is my gift to you.”  WPSU’s Carolyn Donaldson talked with Mayrock for “Take Note.”

Why Tommy Lee Jones Hated Working With Jim Carrey On The Set of Batman Forever

As for Batman Forever, while it’s not one of the more well-received of the Caped Crusader’s movies, Riddler and Two-Face were one of the more interest villain pairings. Carrey’s Riddler was clearly inspired by Frank Gorshin’s iteration of the question-obsessed antagonist from the 1960s Batman TV series, while Jones’ Two-Face had more of a Joker twist compared to his comic book counterpart. Together those two nearly defeated Batman and the newly-debuted Robin, but in the end, they were defeated, with Two-Face meeting a spiky demise and Riddler being driven permanently insane.

Jim Carrey Admits That Turning Down Working With Spike Jonze Is One Of His Biggest Career Regrets

Warner Bros.

Imagine a universe where Spike Jonze‘s big screen directorial debut wasn’t the critically adored mindf*cksnuggle Being John Malkovich, but instead the second Ace Ventura adventure. (The one where the pet detective was in a rhino’s butt.) It was nearly a reality in the ’90s, but red carpet muser Jim Carrey wasn’t interested in Jonze at the time. He says he regrets that decision to this day.

Carrey’s been busy making the publicity rounds as his Kaufman documentary Jim Andy: The Great Beyond makes the screening rounds. Jonze, a producer on the film, shared the stage with Carrey at the Toronto International Film Festival. Screen Crush reports that Carrey recalled turning down Jonze as the director of Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.

“I’ve been wanting to do something with Spike forever,”

Mazda Is Still Working On Its New Rotary Engine And It Could Possibly Have Lasers

Image: Mazda

Mazda’s been working on a new rotary engine for pretty much forever at this point, though since the demise of the RX-8 in 2012, it’s been car vaporware, salivated over by some Internet blogs but never materializing. But now we have an update! The rotary engine is still happening, Mazda said recently, despite what you may have heard.

In fact: I’m about to blow your mind by telling you that Mazda actually never stopped working on the rotary engine. So to say it’s still working on it is kind of a “no shit” statement.

Here’s Kiyoshi Fujiwara, the company’s senior managing executive officer of research and development, to CarAdvice last week:

“For surviving, Mazda needs money to spend on autonomous driving technology, co-pilot and next-gen SkyActiv-D, and
